Grandparenting With Grace: Five minute Friday

To visit you just isn't the same, sitting under the Maple tree quiet-the breeze whispering your name- the bees humming harmony as they via for the sweetness in the blossoms I have placed as my offering. They aren't much compared to what we used to share when we would visit. Two old souls sharing meals and words. Wooded ski trails and words. Hours spent in the saddle-the pleasure of horses-and words; or, perhaps the silence of two comfortable without words. I sweep the cut grass off the stone, and read again the words etched in granite. Your name. The dates. And I miss you. I miss our visits.

  1. What a wonderful, and sad, first post to Five Minute Fridays. I'm nearly in tears....but your words and the pictures you painted with them are beautiful. Thanks for posting!
